"This is my fourth time at the bee, and it's just such a dream — and well, I'm really overwhelmed," Logan said, adding that she was nervous when the competition went into a spell-off for the first time in nearly a century.

Harini Logan Prize Money: How Much Did She Win?

Harini Logan won a $50,000 cash reward, as well as the Scripps Cup trophy, after winning the Scripts National Spelling Bee competition.

On top of the cash prize, she also won awards from Merriam-Webster and Encyclopedia Britannica. She has competed in the Scripps three times before placing 323, 29, and 31. But this year she finally pulled a winning medal.

Harini outspelled over 230 other contestants at the national level, including 12 other finalists, by spell-checking more terms.
